The third edition of the Indian Open, a BWF Super 750 event, kicked off with 9:00AM IST (local time) matches in the national capital.

But the fixtures needed a rejig following a few last-minute withdrawals.

Sindhu, 29, was slated to face Busanan Ongbamrungphan in the opening round, the Thailand star pulled out forcing the opening round fixtures to be tweaked.

Ongbamrungphan has been replaced by Rakshitha Sree Santosh Ramraj of India in the draw.

This will be the second meeting between PV Sindhu and Shuo Yung Sung.

The two-time Olympic medallist defeated her Chinese Taipei opponent in straight games (21-14, 21-12) at the US Open 2023.

Sindhu won the Indian Open in 2017 and she is looking to start afresh after a disappointing 2024. She also got married in December.
